What we did last year
Last year, five friends and myself had an amazing man-cation - a pilgramage to many of the famous historical battlefields of Europe. Blog entries over the next two weeks will shortly describe all that ensued.
We landed Tuesday morning, July 22, at the Charles Degaul airport in Paris. After fussing with our luggage and securing the battlewagon, we set off for our home for the next few days.
The trip took two stages to complete. The first stage consisted mostly of being lost trying to escape the greater Paris area. Through Paris to Versais to St. Cloud and back to Versais, we finally made it to the A13 and on to Normandy.
The second stage took us through the long highway journey to "the chatteu."
After settling in and having supper, we decided to take a short trip out without planning our destination, ending up at the well-known French landmark, Mont St Michel.
Driving back to the chatteu and arriving after midnight, we then proceeded to sleep the sleep of the dead.
